On behalf of Chinese Modern Pentathlon Association, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all the athletes, coaches and guests all over the world for participating 2010 UIPM Senior World Championships in Chengdu from 1 ---7 September. Meanwhile, I would like to extend my highest regards and sincere gratitude to UIPM and all the staff for their support.
　　Chengdu is located in the southwest of China. It is an ancient and energetic, peaceful and flourishing city, with pleasant climate, unique charm and full of sentiment. The Giant Panda, whose hometown is Chengdu, is not only the national treasure of China, but also the symbol of peace and friendship. The city of Chengdu has done a lot efficient preparation work with great enthusiasm in order for a successful event. Now we are looking forward to the exciting moment ---the open of the world championships.
　　Chinese Modern Pentathlon Association and Organization Committee are having an intense desire for all the delegations coming. Athletes from different countries and regions with different nations and religions gather together here to strengthen mutual understanding, deepen friendship, display skill and transcend youself.
　　We are determined and confident to provide the first class stage to all the delegations, and the first class service to have a magnificent event.
